Now we would like to use this post to introduce ourselves properly, put a face to the business for the first time!
In November of 2023, an intrepid explorer crashed on her mum's couch after landing in the UK from Australia and started complaining about the lack of good quality fabric at reasonable prices as compared to her home country. Planting the seed, so to speak, for an incredible idea.
Hours of research and many, many cups of coffee later, The Jelly Roll Shop was put into motion.
So here goes!
The first introduction we'll make is the wonderful mum who put up with the complaints and unexpected housemate, Lisa!
Lisa has had many different careers throughout her life, but her abiding love of crafting has never ceased. From making kids pyjamas to building incredible bedframes to painting murals, creativity has flowed through her her whole life. Quilting became more than a hobby for her when her loving hubby built her first "she-shed" and took off from there!
Handmade gifts and homewares started flowing out of that shed with increasing confidence and with so much love poured into each project that you could feel a warm hug every time you wrap yourself in a super comfy blanket or stuff a colourful draft excluder under a door.
Now Lisa is putting her focus on pre-cut fabrics in very carefully selected collections. And when she's not cutting, rolling and ironing the endless metres of fabric, she is still making permanent hugs in the form of blankets, pillows, tablecloths and of course the aforementioned draft excluders.
